CONTRACT CLEANING Sneak Preview

We hear from Diversey Care, who tell us all about their recent showcase in Dublin, where they unveiled several of their newest innovations.

Contract cleaners from across Ireland received an exclusive preview of the latest innovations from Diversey Care at a special showcase in Dublin at the beginning of June. In addition to seeing new products and machines, the attendees were able to discuss their unique requirements with the Diversey Care team and find out more about how technology is changing the face of the industry.

“Showcase events are the ideal way to introduce customers to our latest innovations and discuss how they improve productivity and sustainability,” said Kathryn Berry, Diversey Care’s Marketing Manager for Ireland and the UK. “Contract cleaners in Ireland are clearly interested in finding out how innovations and technology can help their business.”

The star of the event was undoubtedly the Intellibot Aerobot, a fully-robotic floorcare machine making a first appearance in Ireland following the acquisition of its developer by Diversey Care earlier this year. The “hand-free cleaning” enabled by the Intellibot machines helps users to allocate resources more effectively to reduce labour costs and increase productivity.

The Intellibot range is an excellent example of how the cleaning industry is embracing technology to deliver innovative services. Following this theme the showcase also featured Diversey Care innovations such as the IntelliTrail machine tracking and fleet management system, the SmartView mobile employee and process management service, the Vericlean health sector audit compliance tool, and the Diversey Learning Management System of online training.

Services like these fall broadly under Diversey Care’s “The Internet of Clean” concept where people, assets, devices and processes are interconnected to capture, analyse and interpret information and offer new insights, enhance performance and promote productivity.

Other machine innovations at the showcase included the two newest models in the advanced TASKI scrubber dryer range, the TASKI swingo XP ride-on for large areas and the ultra-compact TASKI swingo 2100 µicro (micro) ride-on for busy and confined spaces, with its unique offset feature that cleans right up to a walled edge. Both offer a range of performance, productivity and sustainability boosting features for intensive building care applications.

Diversey Care was also highlighting its full range of ultra-concentrate platforms including Divermite for food service, Room Care DQFM for hospitality, Revoflow for dishwashing and laundry, and QuattroSelect and SmartDose for building care. All these platforms support the use of highly sustainable ultra-concentrates where water is only added at the point of use rather than the place of manufacture. This delivers benefits including lower costs, minimised packaging, fewer chemical miles, smaller storage requirements, reduced wastage, accurate solution preparation and consistent cleaning results.

One of the simplest innovations on show was the TASKI Zorba Leak Lizard, a super-absorbent disposable barrier strip for containing liquid spills

in retail, hospitality, food service and building care. Containing and removing spills and leaks helps ensure busy and productive areas can remain in use with reduced risk of slips when they might otherwise be taken out of commission. Each 60cm section can quickly absorb up to two litres of water or other liquids. The strips are more efficient and convenient than traditional mopping or paper towels.

New products included Oxivir Plus, a unique cleaner disinfectant with broad spectrum capabilities containing patented Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) as the active ingredient. Designed for rapid and effective infection prevention in building care and other settings, Oxivir Plus can be used on a wide range of materials including hard surfaces, carpets and upholstery (it is Woolsafe Approved). It has few of the drawbacks associated with chlorine-based alternatives. The AHP breaks down to water and oxygen alone shortly after use which means products containing it are less obtrusive and do not produce any irritant fumes.
