“There are only 10 fully-trained technicians in the UK so becoming one of them myself is very important to me. There is lots of different types of colour or dye work out there, from restoring Persian rugs to fixing a bleach spot in a domestic property or doing a colour clean on office carpet tiles.

“It's going to open doors and hopefully put us at the forefront in the restoration of textile floor coverings,” said Tony.

Tony is now going to put his new and developed skills to good use to benefit the environment by setting up a new community interest company, Enviro2Save.

Tony added: “Under Enviro2Save we want to become recognised in the recycling industry, not just by other recycling companies, but by contractors and developers also.

“We want to help reduce the cost of replacing floorcoverings by using our colour cleaning and dyeing techniques to restore floors so they don't have to replace them. This will reduce what goes into landfill. It will also reduce on financial outlay and the turn-around of building refurbishments.

“I also want to provide jobs for the local community and skill-based learning programmes in; domestic, commercial and industrial cleaning, carpet and hard floor cleaning, fitting of carpets and carpet tiles.

“By introducing learning-based training programmes under Enviro2Save, it enables anyone who works for us to gain NVQ qualifications. We hope that this will reduce unemployment in our local and surrounding areas by giving people the opportunity to either gain employment with other companies or set their own up.

“I feel that, once Enviro is running and making profits, those profits can then be put back into helping others, whether it be supporting a local football team, providing low-income families or families with disabled or sick children the opportunity to have holidays. We also may even be able to help homeless people get off the streets and back into society.”
