RANKS AT PPC Tracey Glew, Group Managing Director of The Preparation Group, has been appointed Chairman of FeRFA, Training Manager Stephen Walker has achieved FeRFA NVQ Assessor status and the company has qualified further apprentices through FeRFA’s apprenticeship scheme.


Tracey has been an active member of the FeRFA council for 14 years, Vice Chairman for the last two, and back in 2007 she worked to help formulate the NVQ Level 2 Diploma for Prepare & Profile Substrates, with the aim of providing a recognised training qualification for surface preparation.


Bringing a new perspective to the role as Chairman, Tracey’s skills lie with her extensive knowledge on the methods of floor removal and preparation to ensure the successful application of resins and cementitious flooring systems.


POLYFLOR DONATES CHRISTMAS PRESENTS TO WOOD STREET


MISSION Manchester-based vinyl flooring manufacturer Polyflor recently helped local charity Wood Street Mission with their 2015 Christmas Appeal by donating £1,000 worth of children’s toys.


Wood Street Mission is a Manchester charity which has been helping local children and families with the Christmas appeal since it opened its doors in 1869. Every year they help people living in poverty by providing toys for children and food packages for families in the area.

Two further members of The Preparation Group’s contracting team have achieved their NVQ level 2 diplomas in Prepare & Profile Substrates. Mark Hall and Lee Barker bring the total number of employees that The Preparation Group has supported through FeRFA’s NVQ scheme to fifteen.

Polyflor’s marketing manager Tom Rollo commented: “As we are celebrating 100 years of manufacturing in Manchester this year, we wanted to give something back to the community this Christmas. With Wood Street Mission’s long history of helping families in the region, we thought they were the ideal charity to support.”

Specifically, we have the most machine operators in the flooring industry, qualified in the specialist surface preparation NVQ.”
