SHAKEUPS Two of Phoenix’s finest — the Raven Golf Club Phoenix and The Phoenician — dodged bullets over the summer (at least so far) to redevelop nine of their holes into real estate. Texas-based Arcis Golf canceled plans to turn the Raven into a nine-hole tract and develop houses on the other nine holes after neighbors objected. The Phoenician, at least to date, has not made it official that it will develop nine of its

The area is zoned for a golf course, and if you listen to some of the residents, it’s a golf course or nothing. So at the moment, it’s nothing, especially its clubhouse, which went up in flames last winter. n
