RENOLIT LAUNCHES NEW RIBA APPROVED SURFACE DESIGN CPD

Howe Green Ltd, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of access covers, has launched a new CPD seminar.

The CPD – Safe Access All Areas: Floor Access has been accredited by RIBA and is listed on the RIBA CPD website – www.ribacpd.com.

The aim of the CPD is to help architects and specifiers gain a greater insight into the key considerations when specifying floor access covers.

In two RIBA assessed seminars, Comar outlines: Stand & Deliver: a Study of Curtain Walling – the design of curtain walling, it's properties and how it is used by specifiers. This seminar aims to offer an understanding of the points of Hll in the NBS specification system, and how best to make use of it. Designing Functions & Reliability into Entrances – the issues that influence the function of main entrance design and technology. This seminar aims to offer an understanding of how user expectation influences door design and links this with hardware selection, entrance configuration and floor finishes. 020 685 9685 www.comar-alu.co.uk

Floor access covers provide a safe and easy way to overcome the challenge of accessing building services concealed under floors. As a small part of an overall construction project floor access covers are often an overlooked element of the building envelope. However, the consequences of specifying an access cover that is inappropriate for the environment where it is being installed can have far-reaching, and costly, implications.

Langley Structures Limited has launched a new RIBA approved CPD course on Flat to Pitched (FTP) roof conversion. The session is designed to introduce specifiers to the features of the systems, the benefits, and considerations with regard to the design and installation. The one hour session entitled Lightweight Structural Frames, Design and Installation Over Existing Flat Roofs is delivered by a member of Langley Structures’ technical team and with the RIBA accreditation qualifying CPD points are doubled. 01327 704778 www.langleystructures.co.uk

RENOLIT has launched a new CPD seminar on the flexibility and uses of thermoformable PVC as a decorative surface which illustrates the benefits of PVC films over other decorative surface materials. The seminar provides architects with an understanding about PVC and its common uses within interior construction projects. It informs how to recognize different types of surfaces films, their

applications and raises awareness of some specialist applications. 01670 718222 www.renolit.com/design

Choice of materials, such as stainless steel or aluminium, loading performance, floor finish and fire rating are examples of just some of the different design parameters that need to be considered when specifying floor access covers.

The CPD also outlines how floor access covers can be moved safely and in line with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (MHOR) 1992, CDM 2015 Regulations and Building Regulations. 01920 463 230 cpd@howegreen.co.uk
