CURIOUS ABOUT ACFM®? VISIT TSC ON STAND P49 AT MATERIALS TESTING 2017, ON 5TH - 7TH SEPTEMBER

Plus, on Wednesday 6th September, you can also join us to find out more about ACFM® technology and the latest topside instrumentation, PACE™, as part of the in-show open session forums, CPD points may apply!

Look out for Dr Mike Smith, TSC’s Director of Technology and Innovation, who will be delivering the TSC presentations in both sessions, on Wednesday 6th September, where attendance is free and open to all. Presentation theatres are located within the exhibition itself.

The “E Session” will offer a series of tutorial sessions for practitioners based on the fundamentals of key NDT methods, CPD points will be awarded for attendance to these presentations. TSC will be delivering “ACFM technique demystified – a practitioner’s guide to the technique” at 12:00 – 12:45 hrs .

Following on from that, at 15:00hrs, as part of the D Session TSC will present “PACE- portable topside ACFM crack evaluation…” where the focus will pinpoint the new PACE instrument and the SENSU probe range, investigating developments in topside ACFM inspection capability.

Now that TSC have joined the Eddyfi Technologies family, PACE instruments will be available on the TSC stand, P49, and the Eddyfi/Silverwing stand, E21/23, at this year’s show. Stop by at either stand for a demo or bring samples or information on your application challenges to find out how ACFM can work for you.

For further information on the show overall please visit: www.materialstesting.org or follow @BINDT_MT2017 on Twitter. TSC Inspection Systems are excited to be taking part in this year’s Materials Testing Show in Telford, at The International Centre, and the team look forward to seeing you there.

About TSC Inspection Systems TSC Inspection Systems is the developer and manufacturer of ACFM® non-destructive testing product solutions and subsea inspections services. The ACFM® technique detects surface-breaking cracks in metallic structures and components, without the need to remove protected coatings, therefore minimizing downtime for critical operations. Established in 1984, by a team of Professors and Lecturers who were recognised leaders in the fields of NDT, robotics and fracture mechanics, TSC developed

ACFM® with support from BP, BG, Conoco and Shell, who were keen to dramatically improve the reliability of underwater inspection, reduce the reliance on the operator and provide auditable inspection records. For further information please visit the TSC Inspection Systems website:

Amarinth, a leading company specialising in the design, application and manufacture of centrifugal pumps and associated equipment to the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, chemical, industrial and power markets, has secured an order from zADCO for a super duplex API 610 Oh3 pump, and utilising video conferencing significantly reduced project cost.

When the zakum Development Company (zADCO) required an emergency seawater sanitary pump for the Upper zakum Offshore Oil Field Development, it once again turned to Amarinth, which has provided pumps to numerous zADCO projects, for a solution. Upper zakum is located approximately 84km offshore to the north-west of Abu Dhabi and is the second largest offshore oilfield and fourth largest oilfield in the world, currently producing 640,000 barrels of oil a day.

The project was being run to a tight budget and so Amarinth proposed reducing costs by

minimising travel between the UK and UAE for both organisations through its state-of-the-art video conferencing facility. In the UAE, the video conferencing was hosted at NAMA, who are Amarinth’s agent in the UAE, enabling all parties to work together as one.

Technical and project meetings were conducted via video conferencing which enabled all personnel associated with the project to work together in real time. Shared screens allowed design information to be interacted with by all and project and commercial discussions were concluded quickly and with greater clarity than the traditional multiple rounds of physical meetings. The video conferencing also delivered more flexibility, with adjournments as needed and then reconvening when ready with minimal delays.

Working closely together in this way allowed Amarinth to quickly understand the process and directly design the footprint into the process design for maximum cost savings. Amarinth was also able to spend more time walking through and explaining cost variations

alongside the design decisions with zADCO at an early stage, minimising the risk of additional costs or surprises later in the project.

Oliver Brigginshaw, Managing Director of Amarinth, commented: “As the oil and gas industry seeks to reduce costs, it is not only in the product design that we can deliver against this but also in the way we conduct business. Both zADCO and ourselves were delighted with the savings made on this project utilising our video conferencing suite across all stages of the project and we look forward to working with other customers in the same way so that they too can realise the benefits.”
