“Minnesota boasts nearly 500 golf courses, 7,218 holes of golf encompassing 67,500 acres of green space.”

“While you’re here, we invite you to explore all that makes Minnesota a great place to visit.”

innesota consistently ranks at or near the top of states with the highest golfer participation rates. Locals know about the game’s long and rich history here: We’ve been teeing it up since 1893; we hosted our first national championship

in 1916; and, more recently, we were the host of the 2016 Ryder Cup. Locals know and appreciate firsthand our reputation for accessible, affordable, quality golf courses. Minnesota boasts nearly 500 golf courses, 7,218 holes of golf encompassing 67,500

acres of green space and 4,500 acres of wetlands. Ninety percent of our golf courses are open to the public, including 19 resorts and 25 standalone driving ranges. Minnesota’s golf season, beginning in April and running into November, spans some

of the best “golfing weather” found anywhere in the continental U.S. Daylight in June and July lasts 16 hours, allowing for plenty of time to get 36 holes in, and the turf and playing conditions reach their peak in August and September, when golfers can usually enjoy the outdoors comfortably attired in shorts. When you pair accessibility with quality (weather and playing conditions) and value

(our median green fee is $28 while our average premium green fee is $14 less than the Chicago market), you begin to understand what sets Minnesota apart from other golf destinations. For the intrepid golfer, discovering our golf gems makes for exceptionally rewarding travels. While you’re here, we invite you to explore all that makes Minnesota a great place to

visit. Fabulous lodging options, from lakeside resorts and campgrounds to downtown hotels to charming bed-and-breakfasts, offer more than just a place to rest your head. Restaurants, breweries, museums, shops and charming downtowns will turn your golf vacation into much more than that. Visit exploreminnesota.com to plan your Minnesota golf getaway, and share your best shots with hashtag #OnlyinMN.

Sincerely,
