because if a city becomes only a place for the wealthy, then it really is not a city anymore. But having been heremy whole life, I can’t waste energy fighting it, I have to learn how to adapt, stay excited, and figure outmy path in it and growing up here really gives you all the tools to be able to figure that out.


TB -What are your inspirations and how do they influence the evolution of your style and work?


GD- I draw a lot of inspiration fromall the people I encounter or observe. Frommymost intimate relationships tomymost peripheral ones. People are the key to everything. People create possibility, challenge, love, war, victory, loss, discovery, and obstacles. All of these are necessary and wonderful ingredients for theater and story-telling.
