Take advantage of more than 60 educational sessions and advocate for your ASC BY ROBERT KURTZ

A

t a time when Washington, DC, is under the world’s microscope, it

seems fitting that ASCA is bringing the ASC community into the heart of the action at ASCA 2017, May 3–6, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. “Attending an ASCA meeting con- tinues to be an unparalleled opportu- nity for all attendees, regardless if it is your initial meeting or your 25th,” says Jo Vinson, CASC, director of integra- tion management for Deerfield, Illi- nois-based Surgical Care Affiliates.

Leana McGuire, RN, director of

learning and development for United Surgical Partners International in Addison, Texas, adds, “The benefits of attending ASCA’s conference are endless. From game-changing content to networking opportunities, you will gain more focus and be better prepared to face the challenges of a career in ambulatory surgery.”

National Advocacy Day ASCA 2017 will take place at National Harbor in Maryland, less than 10 miles from Capitol Hill where your elected

program will be held in conjunction with ASCA 2017. Sign up to partici- pate in this program, and you will get the chance to speak face-to-face with your members of Congress and the members of their staff on May 3 or May 4. This is your opportunity to educate your senators and Congress- men about the issues that matter most to your facility and all ASCs. Before you visit your congressio- nal representatives, you will get an in-depth briefing on key ASC policy concerns and resources that will help you in your meetings. All of this infor- mation will be carefully coordinated to help you make the most of the time you spend on Capitol Hill. Special arrangements will be made to ensure that you have access to any content and continuing education (CE) credit opportunities you might miss at ASCA 2017 while conducting a congressional visit. Transportation between the National Gaylord Resort and Capitol Hill will be provided. Registering to participate in National Advocacy Day costs ASCA members nothing. All activities are covered as part of registration for ASCA 2017.

Breakout Sessions When you are not busy advocating for your ASC, take advantage of the more than 60 educational sessions covering the latest business, financial, clinical and regulatory information you need to help ensure your ASC’s future success.
