Raleigh’s Leesville Road High School, has stepped right in to lead the Tigers, posting two individual victories and a team-lead- ing 70.1 average in the fall. The winter break did little to slow the
Tigers’ momentum as they opened the spring slate in late Feburary with a victory in the 15-team Puerto Rico Classic. It was their third championship of the campaign. Redmon tied for fifth individually and
was one of three Clemson players to place in the top seven among 75 players. Listed 24th in the Golfweek rank-
ings going into the tournament, Clemson outscored several top teams in the field, including four from the ACC. Georgia, ranked 13th nationally, was second, 11 shots off Clemson’s pace. N.C. State and Georgia Tech tied for third, 16 shots off the pace. Stephen Franken’s first-round 67 and Harrison Rhoades’ final-round 69 were key for the Wolfpack.
