ANGLE secured their seventh
win of the season as they beat a struggling Johnston side 3-1 last Saturday (Jan 7). The home side had goals from
Connor Willis, who now has 10 goals this season, Jake Seaton and Tom Grimwood. Leigh Walters scored Johnston’s
only goal of the game but it wasn’t enough so they remain second from bottom in the league table with just two wins from 15 games. Angle now have seven wins to
their name, just two short of the amount of wins they managed in the previous season, and they now sit a respectable seventh in the table. This Saturday (Jan 14), Angle
are at home to second placed West Dragons while Johnston are at home to fourth placed Lamphey.

MERLINS BRIDGE remain
top of the Pembrokeshire League after they picked up an emphatic 7-3 victory over Lamphey on Saturday (Jan 7). Will Haworth put the Wizards
ahead with just a minute on the clock and they doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Ashley Beck scored the first of his two goals. Joe John then made it 3-0 with an excellent strike from 25 yards out. Ross Fortune pulled a goal back
for Lamphey when he tapped in a cross, despite calls for offside from the Bridge players. Ashley Beck grabbed his second
goal of the game shortly after with a well taken free kick to make it 4-1. Billy Davies then pulled another
goal back shortly before half time when he was sent through and he side- stepped the keeper before putting the ball in the net.

With the score at 4-2 at the break,
Lamphey were still in with a chance of getting something from the match and they started the second half well. 10 minutes into the half, it was
4-3 as Josh Sture capitalised on a poor clearance to score Lamphey’s third goal of the afternoon. However, despite having a number
of chances, they were unable to find another goal and it was the Wizards who took over in the final 20 minutes. Will Haworth bagged his second
as he poked the ball home and it was 6-3 soon after when Matthew D’Ivry scored with a well-struck shot from 20 yards out. The result was put beyond any
doubt in the final 10 minutes when Scott Murray scored to make it 7-3. On Saturday (Jan 14), Lamphey
will look to get back to winning ways when they take on a struggling Johnston side. On the same day, Merlins Bridge
face arch rivals Hakin United at the Obs in what is sure to be a competitive game.
