The etheric body is a grid or matrix-like structure made of lines of force. It is composed of countless tiny, fine threads of etheric matter, streams of energy. The etheric body has the same general form and structure as the


physical body but it forms the lattice or framework for the dense physical body to form around. It is the source of all electrical and energetic interplay within the physical system and in its nature a holographic body. All life will eventually be found to be holographic in its essence. This is the same as saying that all souls are identical with


the Oversoul. Each part of the body holds the design or matrix for the rest of the body in its entirety. The etheric body is made up of streams of lines of force that are so closely interwoven, interconnected and interpenetrating that any stimulus or activity applied to any portion of that body is felt within the entire structure of that body. It extends from a few inches to many inches beyond the physical body and surrounds the body like and aura depending on the point of evolution. Approx. 2 inches for undeveloped person, more for ordinary person and even more for advanced person.


The etheric body is intangible subtle and fine, but still part of the physical body, an important fact to remember. Three basic principles to keep in mind:

There is no separation. The planetary etheric body is a whole, unbroken and continuous; of this etheric body, those of the healer and the patient are integral, intrinsic parts.


There is an unbreakable (though probably unrealised) relationship between the healer’s etheric body and that of the patient, which can be used once contact has been induced, for a definite circulation of energies.

The channels of relationship can be conductors of many different types of energy, transmitted by the healer to the patient. In this fact lies both hope and danger. (Esoteric Healing p.645)


The etheric body is also connected with all other etheric bodies atomic and galactic, sensitivity to which is a


question of circumference of consciousness. In essence each individual etheric body can be viewed as a centre of focus of force in the larger corporate etheric body in which ii finds itself


The purpose of the etheric body is to vitalise and energise the physical body. It is the medium of expression of the subtler planes of consciousness. It is this body that is receptive to impression from higher sources and it is really the causative agent in all processes of health or disease in the dense body.
