Joining the Board in 2016, Greg Box has a strong background in the community and social services sector, holding senior management positions with government and not-for-profit organisations throughout his career, including 16 years as Chief Executive Officer with CARA. Since retiring from full-time employment, he has worked with the SA Guardianship Board (now SACAT) as a sessional tribunal member, as well as undertaken consultancy work both in SA and the ACT in the area of disability.


Tania Sargent joined the Board in 2009, bringing expertise in corporate strategy development, business restructures and implementation of new systems, risk management and governance, and general commercial and financial management support. She is also Chair of Uniting Communities’ Finance, Risk Management and Audit sub-committee and Governance sub-committee. A Chartered Accountant, Tania is currently Director of Corporate Services at Westminster School. She holds a Masters in Business Administration, an Australian Institute of Company Director’s Diploma and a Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance.

Jason Ting has been a member of the Board since 2013. He has more than 10 years’ senior experience in state and local government, private consultancy and academia. Until recently, he was General Manager of Strategic Policy in the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. He is now Managing Director of Urban Stratagem, a private consultancy in strategic urban and environmental planning. Jason has a keen interest in environmental sustainability, affordable housing, and equity and disability issues. He is an active and long-standing member of Brougham Place Uniting Church.


Completing his tenure in 2016, Mark Miller joined the Board in 2007, and was Chair of the Finance, Risk Management and Audit sub-committee, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the health and human service industries. He has held senior accounting roles in government and major health services in rural and metropolitan SA and NSW. Mark made significant contributions through capacity building projects and volunteer roles via his work in developing countries.


In January 2015, we farewelled Dr Jo Baulderstone after four years as Chair of the Uniting Communities Board. Dr Baulderstone joined the Board in January 2007, bringing a passionate approach to her work with our organisation.
