All hail the BBQ King
Chef Adair Scott of the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos won the coveted BBQ King award at the seventh annual
Similkameen BBQ competition held July 9 at the Grist Mill in Keremeos. Scott’s winning dish featured house-made pork sausage.
Sponsored by the Similkameen Wineries Association, the event brought together a half-dozen top chefs to vie for the award. The 10 wineries and one cidery of the association served complimentary tastings.
“We had guests from Vancouver to Calgary and, of course, many from the valley,” said winery association marking director Sara Crockett.
Similkameen wines have been gaining in popularity and recognition in the past few years. Air Canada’s enroute Magazine named the Similkameen as one of “the world’s five best wine regions you’ve never heard of.”
