Unwind the wing nut anti-clockwise to loosen the centre metal taper; mount the ring on the opposing end. To secure, turn the wing nut clockwise and the taper will tighten. This expands the four wooden jaws putting pressure inside the ring and hence locking, ready to be worked on.
