touch techNology optioNs
All of eurocoin’s standard range of tFt units can be fitted with at least one type of touch screen - Pct, Sct, or tct. to find the best solution for you, we have detailed how they work below.
surFace capacitive touch (sct)
Probably the most frequently used touch technology for Kiosk and Gaming oeMs. the Sct technology is quite basic, as only one side of the insulator is coated with a conductive layer but touch accuracy and resilience to water provide great features. A small voltage is applied to the coated layer, resulting in a uniform electrostatic field. when a conductor, such as a human finger, touches the uncoated surface, a capacitor is dynamically formed. the sensor's controller can determine the location of the touch indirectly from the change in the capacitance as measured from the four corners of the panel.

projective capacitive touch (pct)
Projected capacitive touch (Pct; also PcAP) technology is a variant of capacitive touch. All Pct touch screens are made up of a matrix of rows and columns of conductive material, layered on sheets of glass. this can be done either by etching a single conductive layer to form a grid pattern of electrodes, or by etching two separate, perpendicular layers of conductive material with parallel lines or tracks to form a grid. Voltage applied to this grid creates a uniform electrostatic field, which can be measured. when a conductive object, such as a finger, comes into contact with a Pct panel, it distorts the local electrostatic field at that point. this is measurable as a change in capacitance. If a finger bridges the gap between two of the ‘tracks’, the charge field is further interrupted and detected by the controller.

through capacitive touch (tct)
tct enables the projection of multiple touch points through a cover glass up to 6mm thick. tct provides endless opportunities for customised cover glass designs. the tct sensor can be integrated directly to a tFt screen (so once fitted behind a suitable cover glass, it becomes touch ready) or directly to the back of the machine glass. eurocoin can provide quotations on individual glass designs with options on material, shape, adding print and thickness with tct sensor fitted.
