external envelope New advanced HomelightPlus Range   U-value of 1.2w/m2

Crittall Windows has introduced a new steel window aimed at the residential market, the HomelightPlus range. The authentic ‘like-for-like’ steel window offers significant energy savings – thermally improved to meet Part L of Building Regulations by achieving either a window energy rating Band B or a centre pane k. The window has been made especially secure through an

improved, robust, security multi-point locking option. This modern steel window is dual double-finned weather-stripped and features high performance double glazing. Its slim frame gives minimal sight-lines allowing for larger areas of glass than any other window of a similar size to maximise daylight.

Marlon Clickfix1040 lights up low carbon HQ Over 200m2

of Brett Martin’s Daylight Systems Marlon  

Clickfix1040 glazing panels have been installed at a new multi-million pound HQ in Portsmouth. A key part of the sustainable design was the incorporation of natural light into the building. With this natural resource now seen as crucial in low carbon construction, the project required two clear glazed facades on the south and east elevations. For a glazing system which would not only maximise daylight but also offer exceptional air tightness, durability and UV stability,

Marlon Clickfix1040 from Brett Martin proved the most thermally efficient solution and ensured a fast and straightforward installation.

A new structural glazing system from GLASSOLUTIONS has been specified for Hiscox’s new landmark underwriting and customer experience centre in York, part of the insurance company’s £19 million investment to create its largest office outside London. The VS-1 mullion-only system from GLASSOLUTIONS eliminates the need for

horizontal framing members, enabling Make Architects to achieve the clean viewing lines on the curved atrium screen which forms a key feature of the new building. The building will house up to 500 employees in a dynamic working environment with open, flexible floor space. The light airy interior effect is created by the extensive use of the VS-1 curtain walling.

D R Services, one of the UK’s top specialists in high quality architectural glass and associated fittings, now offers modern, switchable glass for the wow-factor in a wide variety of installations. Architects and interior designers have always used light as a key influence in

design. Now, thanks to D R Services, switchable glass provides a bright space with the option of a frosted glass feature wall or a wall providing transparent viewing. The D R Services switchable glass system contains an electric current within the glass and when this current is switched off, the glass has a natural opaque appearance, blocking vision from either side yet still permitting the light to pass through for a bright room. The D R Services switchable glass is very easy to maintain and boasts low electrical consumption.
