Launching the Sole to Soul 5K FPCA’s first run/walk provides fellowship, raises funds BY KATHLEEN DENT
A healthy turnout of runners and walkers kicked off First Presbyterian’s first five-kilometer event. In addition to the roughly 50 people who hit the trail through the Rose Garden and Cedar Beach parks wearing numbers, dozens of church members and friends attended to help conduct the event or cheer participants on.
Te event drew people of all ages, from young children to people of retirement age.
While many runners and walkers were members of First Presbyterian, the 5K also drew members of the community looking to enjoy a fun, low-key competition at a beautiful time of year. Plans are already under way for next year.
