Te Hampton University Business Incubator is a project developed in partnership between Hampton University and the Hampton Community Development Corpo- ration (HCDC). It was constructed utilizing funds made available to the HCDC by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Tis partnership has been joined by the City of Hampton, Virginia. By doing so, the City of Hampton continues it's long standing commitment to support and en- courage the location, development and growth of businesses in the City of Hamp- ton. Te purpose of the Business Incubator is to provide nurturing services to new and existing small businesses during their critical start-up phase. In addition to also providing a furnished office space, the Business Incubator provides advice, tech- nical assistance, counseling and other services on-site that are oſten unavailable to new businesses due to their cost and/or the location of their offering. Office equipment is also available to incubator clients. Additionally, the Business Incubator operates as a Business Resource Center and contains a library of publi- cations useful to the emerging entrepreneur, HU support from Faculty, Students, and Incubator Board of Advisors. Lunch and Learn workshops are presented by industry professionals on selected topics which relate to business best practices, methods and procedures that are necessary to stay in business and to become successful business owners. The Economc Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth (EDA) is seeking proposals from qualified sources to establish a listing agreement through competitive negotiations with one or more commercial real estate brokers to list, market and sell property owned or leased by the EDA. The initial contract period is for one (1) year, with options for renewal for two (2) additional one year periods. Proposals are due by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015.


Under the direction of the EDA, the selected broker(s) shall perform in a satisfactory manner all the necessary services required to provide commercial real estate marketing and brokerage services.


A pre-proposal conference will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 @ 10:30 a.m. at Tidewater Community College, Portsmouth Campus, 120 Campus Drive, Building A – Forum Room, Portsmouth, VA 23701.

This project shall require the A/E to take existing construction docu- ments and site adapt them to three other sites. In addition to any structural and foundation modifications required for construction of the original build- ing design on the new sites, the A/E shall modify the structure as necessary to accommodate minor interior layout changes, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical system changes, and required modifications due to code changes.
