FOLK-ROCK legend Art Garfunkel will return to UK shores later this year includ- ing a date at St David’s Hall on Thursday September 17. Throughout a career span-
ning more than 50 years, Gar- funkel has received accolades including Grammy awards, Golden Globe nominations, huge chart success and a de- served place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Most famously, the dia- mond-selling New Yorker conquered the world as one half of Simon & Garfun- kel alongside Paul Simon. Many timeless hits followed throughout the ‘60s includ- ing Mrs Robinson, The Boxer, Bridge Over Troubled Water and The Sound of Silence. After the duo disbanded
in 1970, Garfunkel engulfed on a highly successful solo career. The emotive classic Bright Eyes featured in the children’s animated film Wa- tership Down, and was the highest selling single of 1979 in the UK. The multi-talented artist

of the subculture herself, Constantine was determined that the film would have an authentic feel and began set- ting up dance clubs in Bolton and London four years before filming to scout for actors and extras. As well as a fantastic soundtrack including the likes of Edwin Starr, Shirley Ellis and The Salavadors, which is sure to get many reminiscing, the film has a great British cast including Ricky Tomlinson as well as comedian Steve Coogan.
