Christmas

Deliveries WTVP has some special deliveries coming your way on Christmas night, Tursday, Dec. 25!

At 7 p.m., a new Call the Midwife Holiday Special begins with a mature Jennifer

(Vanessa Redgrave) at home in the early 21st

century. She reflects

on the Christmases of her youth, and how much she missed the Nonnatus community aſter her departure. Back in 1959, the story follows the nuns and nurses as they prepare for the Sunday School Christmas concert and continue their ministrations to the Poplar population. Big changes are in store. Cynthia is invited to join the order as a postulant, and aſter malprac- tice is uncovered at the York Lodge, Chummy is offered the permanent position of matron. With the New Year and a new decade approaching, what will 1960 bring?

At 8:30 p.m.,WTVP’s own At Issue pauses to reflect on the meaning of the season to various religions.

At 9 p.m., Charles Dickens’ classic tale comes to life in an exciting musical performance in A Christmas Carol: Te Concert. And Dickens himself comes to life in a unique one- man performance in Te Night Before Christmas Carol at 10:30 p.m.

Cap off your holiday with a little music from Ed Kaizer and fam- ily in WTVP’s own Jazz from Studio 47 “Christmas Jazz” at 11:30 p.m.

See page 23 for more holiday programming.
