The Handsome Daughter opens on Sherbrook Street A location that has seemed cursed for
the past decade, seeing its name change and owners shuffle several times over, has a bright new outlook with its new residents. Te Handsome Daughter, a live music
venue and bar, is a labour of love from co- owners Jason Evaristo and Kirian Eyford. Since February, the owners, along with
crew, have been toiling away an extra 40 to 50 hours a week at the club on top of their day jobs, gutting the place from the ground up and replacing the floors, painting – changing, well, pretty much everything. Te team, on a shoe-string budget, was
able to brighten up the formerly dark and dingy space with bright white walls, a communal bench and an already iconic wall mural from artist Dany Reede, which features his interesting brand of cartoon- ish characters along with the bar’s name.

renovation mode on Portage Avenue, but its signage and window decals have already elicited excitement along the neglected block. Not to mention, the owners hosted a
coffee give-away to kickstart interest in the “social club.” Bearing the words music, pizza, coffee,
beer, and social on its exterior, the club promises to be a quirky mix of late-night food comas, early-morning coffee runs, live music and dance parties. In the former home of Pop Soda’s Cof-
feehouse & Gallery, The Good Will will bring some welcome nightlife energy to the downtown. Follow @thatgoodwill on Instagram to stay updated on the opening.
