The Stables The clerk had sent the invoice and agreement for the rent of the field to the owner in July and had followed up with a reminder in August. Crime report The following had been reported:Aburglary other than a dwelling in North Street, criminal damage in South Lane; the from a vehicle in Maidstone Road; two aempted burglaries in Rectory Lane; an aempted burglary in South Lane and a burglary in South Lane. Village hall Poyntellwas to look at a toilet door whichwas not locking. The handyman had looked at this and believed itwas the lock and not the door dropping.


West Farleigh


Teston LaneAresident asked why Teston Lane had not been resurfaced. The clerkwas to write to KCC for more information. Cllr Geoff Martin said the drains had been cleared but had been emptied on to the verge at the side of the road. Itwas noted that when it next rained thiswould be washed back on to the road, blocking the drains again. KCC Cllr Paulina Stockell said shewould discuss the issues with Kent Highway Services. Broadband Cllrs Bryan Merri and Geoff Martin commented on the poor signal. Cllr Stockell suggested a leer be sent to Cllr Paul Carter as KCC had received a grant from the government to ensure that villages received faster broadband. Christmas lights Members agreed to investigate the possibility of installing lights on the green. Itwas agreed to investigate. Lower Road railings Cllr King commented on the poor state of the railings at the junction of Lower Road and Teston Lane, whichwas more noticeable now that the vegetation had been cut back. The clerkwas to contact Rookery Estates. Pothole Cllr Chris Stockwell reported a pothole close to the Thatched House. Water pipes Cllr Merri said South East Waterwas to fit new pipes in Charlton Lane but intended to lay them across the village green. Therewere objections to this and the clerkwas to pass these on. Village green posts Cllr Merri said the posts needed replacing around the green and near to Smith’s Hall – about 36 in total. He said he had the posts and proposed that quoteswere obtained for installation. All were in favour.

from a fuel bunker at a property in Chickenden Lane, Staplehurst. Atractor and grasscuerwere stolen from


an outbuilding in Salt’s Lane, Boughton Monchelsea. The itemswere later recovered at the junction of Church Street and Haste Hill Road. The suspectswere described as three men of average build. Allwere wearing dark clothing with hoods or caps. Theywere using a Vauxhall Frontera. Cash, documents and a bagwere stolen


from a green Land Rover Defender on the drive of a home in Four Oaks Road, Hawkenbury. An air-conditioning unitwas stolen from


the kitchen of the Crown and Horseshoes in Suon Road, Langley. Power toolswere stolen from a red Ford
