Our park is buzzin’ Saturday 28 June, 11am - 1pm Description: Did you know that there are 24 species of bumblebee in the UK? Come and help us catch a few and learn the differences between these fuzzy bumblers on this family event. Location: Meet at Patterton car park, opposite Patterton Train Station, Stewarton Road, Newton Mearns.


Bull’s eye Thursday 3 July, 1 - 4pm Description: Do you think you are a good shot? Join the countryside rangers and some real experts for a bit of archery practice in the country park. Full guidance and equipment will be provided. Location: Meet at the Balgray Reservoir car park, Balgraystone Road, off Springfield Road, Barrhead.


Family fun day Sunday 13 July, 12 noon - 4pm Description: Come along to a family fun day for our own Commonwealth Games and much more! Location: Meet at Parkmanor Green, off Parkhouse Road, Parklands Meadow.


These charming worms Friday 18 July, 11am - 1pm Description: What do you think the best way is to charm a worm? Try different techniques to catch the worms in our worm charming competition. All charming equipment will be provided on this family event. Location: Meet at Parkmanor Green, off Parkhouse Road, Parklands Meadow.

Canine competitors Saturday 23 August, 1 - 3pm Description: Our assault course returns. Is your dog ready for it? Join the countryside rangers for our fun agility event. Don’t forget your dog! Location: Meet at Patterton car park, opposite Patterton Train Station, Stewarton Road, Newton Mearns.


Build a bivvy Sunday 7 September, 11am - 2pm Description: Take the family on Dams to Darnley’s annual bivouac adventure. Build your own shelter and camp out for lunch in the country park. Location: Meet at theWorld Buffet restaurant car park, Corselet Road, Darnley.


The countryside rangers play away Saturday 20 September, 9.30am - 4pm Description: This year the countryside rangers are exploring new ground and will be going to the Greenock Cut in Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. But before you start worrying we are not walking there, a bus will take us back and forth from Patterton. Location: Meet at Patterton car park, opposite Patterton Train Station, Stewarton Road, Newton Mearns.


Batman and mothin’ Friday 3 October, 6.30 - 8.30pm Description: Are you batty about bats? Join the countryside rangers as we use detectors to tune into the bats as they feed at dusk. You can also have a closer look at some of the moths they might be eating! Location: Meet at Patterton car park, opposite Patterton Train Station, Stewarton Road, Newton Mearns.
