Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Centre and Museum

The interpretive centre at Head- Smashed-In Buffalo Jump in the foothills of southwestern Alberta is built into the ancient sandstone cliff, and depicts distinct mythology and lifestyle of Blackfoot peoples from the viewpoint of aboriginal peoples and European archaeological science. The site was first recorded by Europeans in the 1880s, and designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1968, and a World Heritage Site in 1981 as a testimony of prehistoric life and the customs of aboriginal people.
