12/ CAN-AM ALL BREEDS EQUINE EXPO Can-Am Youth & Family Day The fair’s third day – Sunday,

March 30 – is Youth Day. Engage in and enjoy a full slate of events geared specifically for junior horse enthusiasts: pony rides, youth-oriented clinics, colouring contest, and summer-camp sign-ups are all part of the fun. More

profoundly, the Can-Am fair, adopting the philosophy that the future of the industry depends on education, offers ample opportunity for kids to learn about the many different aspects of owning and caring for horses. Equine Guelph’s EquiMania focuses on a vari-

ety of topics including nutrition, anato- my, horse behaviour, rider safety, horse welfare, and careers in the equine indus- try. The ever-popular Encore Trick Rid- ers appear all three days with seminars and fabulous demonstrations. Canada’s premier event for horse

enthusiasts, the Can-Am Equine Expo 2014 includes an impressive range of features and attractions for the whole family. Running for three jam-packed days, March 28 to March 30, at the new Orangeville Event Centre, the Can-Am fair celebrates its eleventh anniversary in a big way. Among the highlights: Terry Myers, Russell

Guire, and Guy McLean lead a strong line-up of pre- sentation speakers, while a diverse assortment of equine experts address specialized clinic topics inte- gral to the industry; and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony will honour distinguished contributors to the horse industry. All very exciting! But another dimension of the

fair should not be overlooked: the Can-Am Equine Expo is also a celebration of the horse industry’s commitment to youth.
