Eighteenth century architecture meets the wine industry: this is the spirit of Chartrons in Bordeaux. Behind a beautiful facade, you’ll find the Museum of Wine and Trade in the vaulted cellars that housed

barrels for ageing wines. Objects and archival documents now retrace the exceptional career of the great merchant families and the ancestral knowledge of the cellar workers. Dive into the incredibly rich world of the wine trade and let us guide you through a tasting in which you will discover the famous Bordeaux vineyards and appellations.

Classic car touring One of the best ways to experience the scenic French countryside is behind the wheel of a classic car. Former racing driver Andy Sayle launched Cross Channel Sports Cars (www.ccsportscars.fr), which is based in the small village of Roquecor in the Midi-Pyrénées, in order that “like-minded petrol-heads from around the world can experience for themselves the delights of driving in south-west France”.

In addition to the car hire, Andy helps his customers with detailed itineraries and accommodation. “The Morgan Plus 4 was everything we could have wished for,” say John and Kathy Fisher, who toured the region in September 2013. “Ivory paint with tan leather upholstery, wire wheels and even the leather strap on the bonnet was in impeccable condition. After a thorough introduction, we were off for the day and had a great time on the quiet country lanes.
