The Renewables Event has busiest show to date

The Renewables Event 2013 celebrated its busiest exhibition and conference to date, reflecting the growing demand for onsite renewables. In fact, visitors demonstrating a specific interest in renewables doubled compared to last year.

The successful second year for The Renewables Event cemented its status as a key part of The Energy Event, which welcomed more than 6,172 visitors (unaudited) to the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, in September.

Jamie Cook, Event Director for The Renewables Event at i2i Events Group, said: “Following a successful second year for The Renewables Event, with more visitors and a highly energetic and well-received conference,

the show has now confirmed its status as an integral and natural extension of The Energy Event. The event is meeting the growing demand for onsite renewables and green energy”. The Renewable Energy Association (REA), voice of the renewables industry in the UK, played a key role at The Renewables Event. Stuart Pocock, the organisation’s Commercial Director, said: “This year’s Renewables Event was a terrific success. It was great to see many familiar faces from our member companies and lots of new faces too.

The Renewables Event featured more than 80 expert speakers taking part in the free, two-day conference programme, which focused on the latest renewables

technology, legislation and advice for businesses looking to create their own onsite renewable energy.

Eco-design consultant and Renewables Event conference chairman Rob Holdway said a change in culture was a consistent theme across the two days of talks: “This year’s conference line- up was exceptional thanks to the incredibly technically competent, knowledgeable and well- respected industry speakers. It also demonstrated just how many fantastic, innovative projects are taking place across the country. For instance, the government can learn a lot from how the National Trust disguises its renewable technology in the most highly sensitive places, thanks to its ‘Spirit of Place’ strategies”.
