Are there any on-ground restrictions for the transportation by road? This might include road and bridge weight limits, bridge heights, weekend and night transportation restrictions or ground transport permits.


The ELC team are able to organise all of the above.


How far out from an actual fl ight or series of fl ights do you become involved?


We would always prefer to be involved from the quotation stage but we understand that’s not always possible. We have had situations where the ELC team have been called upon at the very last minute to assist in the arrangement of trucking, cranes or documentation, for example. That’s all part of the job.


PROJECT EXAMPLE 1 Rotors to Nigeria


On behalf of a leading UK freight forwarding company, we were contracted to design and fabricate the

transportation frames for two large rotors for the Lafarge Cement Company.


This involved delivering the frames to the factory in Oelde, Germany and overseeing installation of the rotors to the transport frames. Once this was completed, we were responsible for moving the cargo by road to Hahn airport, including obtaining German road


haulage permits with our recommended trucking company.


The ELC team completed export documentation at Hahn airport, including customs forms and air waybill paperwork and supervised the loading of the cargo onto our chartered AN-124- 100 aircraft in preparation for its fl ight to Lagos.
