A Chinese blue and white birthday bowl, six character Qianlong seal mark and probably of the period, with a flared rim, the body painted to the exterior with four roundels containing characters which read wan shou wu jiang, on a scrolling lotus design with the Eight Buddhist Emblems between bands of scrolls and lappets, the interior with similar decoration around a central shou character, 18.2cm. £800-1,200
