Superwatt was introduced to the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance (HREDA) by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. After touring several buildings throughout the region, the facility in Suffolk was determined as the best fit for this project. HREDA worked with Suffolk’s Department of Economic Development and the Virginia Port Authority to secure this win for Hampton Roads.

The Hampton Roads Messenger 13 Virginia Beach 2040 Vision to Action


Community Coalition to Meet The 2040 Vision to Action Community Coalition, a citizens group appointed by the City Council, will have its kick-off meeting Friday, March 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Economic Development Office in Town Center, 222 Central Park Ave., Armada Hoffler Building, Suite 1000. The group will receive presentations on the Sustainability Plan and the City’s Strategic Issues Teams.


The City Council endorsed the Envision Virginia Beach 2040 report on May 15, 2012, and appointed the coalition on Oct. 23 to monitor and pursue the report’s vision of the future. John Malbon and Gary McCollum are co-chairmen.
