Welcome to Art13 London

The team at Art13 London is delighted to welcome you to the inaugural edition of the Fair.

With 129 galleries from 30 countries, we are delighted with the support we have received from galleries for our launch. We are proud to be able to present what we feel is a strong showing of galleries from across the globe in a wonderful setting. With the first edition of the Fair we are setting out to show our two strongest ambitions: a global showing of high quality art from Western and non-Western countries in a welcoming, special and inspiring environment.

To ensure that a visit to the Fair creates a captivating journey of discovery, we have developed an ambitious programme of art projects, talks and performances. As you wander around the hall and into the various adjacent rooms, you will come across a range of engaging and sometimes participatory sculptures and installations which entice and surprise; and make you look and sometimes listen.

To engage with the recent revival of interest in performative works, we have initiated a performance programme which has been curated by Amanprit Sandhu. A dedicated performance booth with a stage design by Bedwyr Williams will host performances on the hour of the main days of the fair. Go and be captivated by ballet dancers, fake pop bands and storytelling.

Our talks programme is an important platform for cultural exchanges and will be a keystone for this and the subsequent editions of the Fair. We look forward to inspiring discussions about China and also the global rise of the private museum in talks that will make underlying developments of the current art scene visible. All the public programmes have had inspirational advice from the Zabludowicz Collection, our Education and Institutional Partner who has been a sounding board throughout. We would also like to thank Arts Council England for its support of the Public Programme.

This first edition would not have been possible without the strong support of many people. We are especially grateful to our lead sponsor, Citi Private Bank, and all our sponsors and partners, for their support and enthusiasm. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our very active advisory board, chaired by Philip Dodd and the curators from the Selection Committee who kept a strong sense for quality while being open for the new and inspiring. Last but not least this fair would not have been possible without the dedication of the team behind it. Each and everyone, I owe a deep thank you for their dedication and passion for our vision. We look forward to welcoming you at the inaugural Art13 London.
