Back Country Horsemen of Washington Annual Rendezvous The Back Country

Horsemen of Washington 2013 Rendezvous will be held March 15–17, 2013, at the fairgrounds in Ellensburg, WA. The three-day event is open to the public. The Rendezvous is a BCH

of Washington fundraiser with proceeds going to maintain existing trails, and build new trails for horses, campers, and hikers. Keeping trails open provides affordable, healthy outdoor recreation for family, friends, and for future generations to enjoy Mother Nature in the backcountry. Free classes and

demonstrations will include horse skills clinics, freeze branding demonstrations, primitive trails and skills with Robert “Trail Meister” Eversole on “Staying Found on the Trail” and “Leave No Trace Education.” Other Rendezvous highlights include

a wine tasting, tack consignment sale, vendor booths, Dutch oven cooking

The featured clinician is Barb Apple whose Friday-Saturday, two-day clinic will focus on the basic moves of Cowboy Dressage, and how these concepts apply to trail riding. “We will increase the skill and safety in our trail horses,” says Apple. “The clinic will be fun. Good horsemanship is good horsemanship. Horses love cross-training. It helps them stay fresh and not so bored.” Spectators may watch for free. Those wishing to bring a horse to the clinic should contact Barb Apple at 360-832-3616. In 2012, BCHW members
