The gifted musician who, at 16, won a coveted scholarship to London’s Royal Academy of Music, has been credited with bringing classical guitar back to popular attention for the fi rst time in a generation. With economic uncertainty, political gridlock and an abundance of Kardashians clogging up our televisions, laughing has never mattered more and the Emelin Theater is proud to offer audience members comic relief. The Second City, a Chicago-based premier comedy club and theater that is proud of its 53-year history, has been a training ground for a host of famous alumni including John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Tina Fey, Steve Carell and many, many more. In its latest production, Laughing Matters, the comedic cast puts comedy first in a wickedly funny revue that skewers and celebrates in equal doses.

Keb’ Mo’ has been a driving force of Blues music since the early eighties. Influenced by such greats as Robert Johnson and David T. Walker, his distinctive sound embraces multiple genres including pop, rock, folk and jazz but, most of all, gritty, edgy blues. His soulful music will excel when paired with the excellent acoustics of the landmark Tarrytown Music Hall. Mo’ has collaborated with such musical icons as Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne and his songs have been covered by greats from B.B. King to Joe Cocker. A storyteller who manages to convey the human experience with every note, his music will resound throughout the likely packed theater.
