HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN FUND DINNER Dust off that studly tux, tie that bow to perfection and buff those patent

This cultural soiree returns for its fourth year to the San Diego re-

gion, with a new location and a new concept for creative expression and collecting. Art San Diego 2012 has taken up residence in the world famous Balboa Park and the theme is “New Art City.” Formerly Downtown, the relocation allows them to “develop an urban com- pound both inside the venue and throughout the grounds of Balboa Park,” according to their website. Four individual districts will be dedicated to different disciplines, each with its own social center al- lowing interaction with artists and dealers: Contemporary Art, Con- temporary Product/Furniture Design, Mid-Century/Modern Art and Solo-Artist managed booths. The event takes place from Thursday, September 6 through Sunday, September 9, with many varied events from wine tastings to dance recitals and breakfasts with art- ists. leather pumps to a mirror finish, because it’s time for a party extraordinaire! HRC San Diego is holding it’s first black-tie event at the fabulous Hard Rock Hotel in downtown. Join them for A Rockin’ Black Tie Affair on Saturday, August 18 and help to raise funds for the largest organization dedicated to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights in America. Step it up and become an ambassador for your friends by filling a table as a table captain. Each consists of ten chairs, so surround yourself with the people you love and even if you don’t sell all ten, they will fill the remainder with singles arriving unattached. As an added bonus, Staff Sergeant Eric Fidelis Alva will be speaking on LGBT rights and his experiences in the military as a Marine and in the Iraq War (he was the first Marine seriously injured in that conflict).
