Elfordleigh Golf Course
The new 1st green has improved the opening hole, offering interesting pin positions whilst improving the drainage on the approach and surroundings.
From here you take on the newer holes (2nd - 10th) ranging from inviting par 3's to the challenge of the double dog leg Par 5 4th.
Be sure to take a moment on the 7th fairway and take in the spectacular view back to the Hotel with the beauty of Dartmoor beyond.
On re-entering the original holes the first challenge is the redesigned par 3 11th.
Recently described by our Head Professional Nick Cook as ‘the best and most challenging Par 3 in
Devon where a bogey is more than acceptable’.
The hole measures nearly 200 yards off the back tees with water on the left and out of bounds on the right! Good luck!
Your score will be made in the final six holes of the course which includes back to back tree lined par 5's, but watch out for the out of bounds on 16 and 17 which can potentially wreck your card.
Enjoy the walk up the hill on 18 as you play back to the hotel and the welcome sanctuary of the 19th.
Our greenkeeping staff work tirelessly in all weather to maintain the course and are continually looking at areas where we can improve.
The latest project to be completed involves the 12th Hole. The remodelled competition tee has added 15 yards to the length of the hole and new bunkering has made finding the green more challenging on an already tricky par 3.
Winter conditions continue to improve with better tees and greens being introduced to encourage more year round golf at Elfordleigh.
We hope you enjoy the course as much as we do and as many first time visitors agree, ‘I would like to play it again’.
