when the Holy Father spoke truth was said that day. We can only grow out of truth and we have to accept the whole truth.”
Praying for you
Sister Juliana thought the key point was back in 1992 when Basil Hume said the Church was willing to receive the Church of England back as a body. It was to be a first wave. Tere was a big reaction and it never happened. It was a painful time. Individuals came and we did a postal course for those joining the Church. When we heard about the Ordinariate we wanted you to know we were praying for you and behind you. We offer you our support in prayer and in any practical way we can. For example any Religious who might join the Ordinariate and have nowhere to go.”
Te Order has a constant
flow of enquirers, but as the Sisters pointed out, “It takes a lot. In our life you are re-born.” Mother Damian stressed the aspect of Conversion in the Religious Life. “Saint Collette said that everyday was a conversion.”
At present the Order
has its share of ladies who were Teachers, a Nurse, a Midwife, an Accountant, and
others who were
Page 11 “Tere are, of course different Orders in the Church:
Cistercians, Carmelites and so on. Ours is quite different. Our prayer is being together. Tis house, the people here, all from different nationalities, different backgrounds, different social classes; we all are involved in the Prayer: the Adoration: the Intercession: and no Bank balance! We are learning to live with each other and little or no financial security.
“One builds the Church by one’s choice for Christ.
One is put into a family. We have been put into our Community. Love is the important thing. Without love it grows wild. Gardeners need to tend the garden everyday, when we do that, then we reap a harvest.”

Sister Juliana quotes Tolkien, “For some people to keep them some people must give them up.” She continued, “It is what God gives us, poured into our laps – overflowing.” Will the Order continue? Mother Damian is certain that it will. “God runs it, not us. He will use it. It is 800 years old!

Spiritual Stones Of course these Sisters value the Religious Life.
“Tere is every value in the Religious Life.” According to Mother Damian, “Every Religious Order puts in a brick and seals it into the Church. Every individual does the same. Te Religious Life is as important as Married Life. Te Church would be slightly in rubbles without the Religious Life.
Our prayer It would be that much poorer. We are the mortar that
seals the bricks of the Church together. Tis has been pointed out to us by Christ himself and, of course, Saint Francis.” Sister Juliana called the Religious Life and individual Religious “Spiritual Stones”.
On-line ministery Tese Poor Clares have an
