Not All Mortgages are Created Equal Take a moment to better understand your mortgage.
Tip #6 - Prepayment Privileges Underestimating the importance of your prepayment privileges
is one of the most costly mistakes a consumer can make.
• Remember when it comes to prepayment privileges, generally “Bigger is Better”! • When and how often does the lender allow the prepayment privilege? Flexibility is very important and can save you BIG money!
• Does the lender allowthe prepayment to be applied against your principal BEFORE calculating the payout penalty for the mortgage? This option alone can save you $1000s!
• Remember if your payout privileges are not clearly outlined in your mortgage document, the lender may cancel or change them without notice.
Based on an average 30 year mortgage, if you make one extra payment per year for the first five years, you will be mortgage free and extra four years sooner!* Which means you will save OVER $45,000.00!!!! *Based on a $200,000.00 mortgage amortized over 30 years @4% for 5 years.
