Friendly club that encourages


East Cornwall Riding Club was formed in 1971 and is affiliated to the British Riding Clubs as part of the British Horse Society.


We cater for members from 11 years of age.


The club has over 140 members and its main aim is to promote and encourage riding as a recreational sport and to promote good fellowship amongst riders.


During the summer (April – September) the club puts on a variety of events.


This year it will be at our new site - Woodside fields, Saltash, East Cornwall.


The events include showjumping,


dressage, showing and instruction with experienced and professional instructors.


We also utilise the


excellent facilities at Pontispool and Stockland Lovell to put on camps where horse and rider can experience a holiday away together.


In the winter we hold showjumping and dressage competitions as well as instruction at the Duchy College in Callington and in December we hold our annual dinner dance.


The club actively supports Area 19 of the British Riding Club organisation by sending teams to the Riding Club Qualifiers competing against other Clubs in Area 19 in the hope of sending teams to the British Riding Club National Championships.


We are a friendly club that encourages all abilities and we try to ensure that everyone who attends our events has a good safe time.

New site at Woodside Stables


Pictured is our new site at Woodside Stables, Saltash.


Please notice how flat it is! We shall be doing jumping and dressage without the usual slope.


The area inside the double ring of the old gallops is


approximately 4 acres,


which should give us plenty of scope, and the enclosing circle of the old gallops themselves enables us to keep riders and spectators apart, which is a big plus from the health and safety point of view.


There is a separate field for parking horse vehicles.
