JOURNALIST TASNIM NAZEER Shortlisted for Asian Woman of Achievement Award 2012
Global Islamic Finance Magazine Journalist, Tasnim Nazeer has been shortlisted amongst millions of women in the UK for the Asian Wom- an of Achievement Award in Media 2012.
In addition to writing for GIF, Tasnim writes for a variety of print and online publica- tions including CNN Interna- tional, The Huffington Post, The Muslim News and many more on the topics of Islamic Finance, Business, Islam and World News.

As a Journalist for GIF she writes, proofreads and edits for the print and online edi- tions and has written numer- ous reports for the publica- tion including The Ultimate Islamic Finance Review 2011 and many more.
Born and bred in the United Kingdom her passion for Journalism aroused at an early age and she went onto study a BA Honours Journal- ism at the University of the Arts London.

There are many influential Muslim women in the global Islamic finance industry in- cluding Malaysia’s Governer Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Islamic fi- nance Shariah Advisor Dr Ra- biah Adawiah and many more that are becoming notable figures within the industry.
Business professionals, en- trepreneurs and journalists are becoming notable figures within the Islamic finance and banking sector contrib- uting to the promotion of the Shariah compliant industry in a positive way.
By highlighting the various benefits of Islamic finance in the mainstream media there is more scope for further pro- gression of the industry and this is exactly what Tasnim Nazeer and other fellow in- dustry professionals aim to achieve.
Tasnim’s work has not only received positive acclaim from the AWA but she was also noted for her work from the Muslim Writers Awards
as she was nominated for Young Journalist of the Year 2011 for her in depth articles in Global Islamic Finance Magazine and on CNN on the French Ban on the Burka and other articles across the breadth of publications that she has written for.
She has also been informed that she is shortlisted for the 2012 Muslim News Awards for Excellence in Media. She has been voted as one of the Top 40 Inspirational Mus- lim Women in the World by American Muslim Magazine ‘MB Muslima’ and is current- ly writing a book on Islamic finance.
The Islamic finance and banking industry is a growing sector and with inspirational figures being given the op- portunity to be highlighted it can further prosper.
