How to select the right battery charger?
Ring offer the following different types of battery chargers
Manual Battery Chargers
• Suitable for lead acid batteries only • Constant charge is applied to the battery – when the battery is fully charged this charger type must be manually turned off to prevent over-charging of the battery
Automatic Battery Chargers
• Suitable for lead acid and gel batteries • Includes 2x charge settings (fast / slow)
• When the battery is fully charged the automatic battery charger reverts to a maintenance charge setting. This allows the battery to be left connected safely to the automatic charger for a short period of time
Smart Battery Chargers
• Suitable for lead acid, gel, AGM and calcium batteries
• Includes multiple charge settings
• SmartChargers charge up to twice as fast as manual and automatic battery chargers. When the battery is fully charged the SmartCharger only applies charge as the battery voltage decreases, this allows the battery to be safely connected for an indefinite period
• SmartChargers offer battery maintenance tools that can increase the performance and prolong the life of a battery. i.e. desulphation and recondition features (See SmartCharge Tech Talk on page 9)
