General WCC facts..


l After 14 years, this is the first time the World Carp Classic has been held In Italy. l 160 pairs will compete. l 30 countries will be represented.

l A huge opening ceremony will kick off the event.


l There will be an on site management team of 60 people during the event.

l The lake has a surface area of 144kms sq, 53kms of bank space, a central depth of 151m and is located just 65 miles from Rome.

l Bolsena Is Italy’s largest lake formed in the crater of an extinct volcano.

l It began forming 370,000 years ago following the collapse of a caldera into a deep aquifer. The two islands were formed by underwater eruptions following the collapse of the caldera.


lThe lake is supplied entirely from the aquifer, rainfall and runoff and is bordered on one side by updated forms of the Roman consular road Via Cassia.


l Types of fish currently present in Lake Bolsena: Eel, Crucian Carp, Carp, Chub, White Fish, Lattarino, Pike , Perch, Black Bass, Sunfish , Catfish, Rudd, Tench and some others of little interest to fisher- men.
