Come and visit James Herriot’s former home and surgery created as a tribute to his work and learn more about the modest country vet who became an author of best selling books worldwide. Period setting rooms depict life in the 1940s. Find out more about Herriot the family man. Enjoy our film show that summarises how and why Herriot’s writing became so popular. Visit our TV studio and see the sets like those used in the BBC series “All Creatures Great and Small.” Marvel at our collection of veterinary equipment through the ages, making us the only veterinary museum of its kind anywhere. Let the kids loose on our interactive displays providing hands-on fun for all the family. Take away a souvenir from our well stocked gift shop. There’s much more to see and do here than first meets the eye. Ramp access, lifts to all floors and adapted toilets are provided.
