KNOWING YOUR ENFIELD

This catalogue is primarily aimed at the modern Bullet, however there are an ever increasing number of parts which are suitable for the Redditch made Bullet. In fact a number of these parts can be used on any Royal Enfield or virtually any motorcycle. With the different models that have been available over recent years the variations of accessories and standard parts is getting very confusing. In this catalogue we have tried to simplify this with a ―FITMENT GUIDE‖ box (see example on the right). This is intended only as a guide and is not intended to be fully comprehensive, but will hopefully be an invaluable help to everyone. We have included parts for the English ―Redditch‖ made Bullets as well as the latest EFI models, the fitment guide will explain which parts are suitable. Unfortunately the guide does not cater for the various Bullet derivatives that some dealers and importers offer. Please enquire as to the fitting of parts for these models.

The vast majority of returns we have, are from owners not sure of the exact model and year they have and not fully understanding if the parts they are ordering are suitable. Whist we try to look out for obvious errors, it is difficult for us to spot all as we despatch over 20,000 orders per year covering models that range over 70 years, the model explanations below should help.

LEANBURN ENGINE

BULLET (EXPORT) - the standard Indian made Bullet with the ―Classic‖ (Do not get confused with ―Classic EFI‖-see below) engine which has been imported into Europe via the official importers. These differ in many ways to unofficial imports which we call: BULLET (IND MKT) - The Indian home market (also known as domestic) Bullets have detail differences and not all parts are interchangeable. Again this heading only covers the Classic engine. BULLET REDDITCH - The English made Bullets from the 1950‘s and 1960‘s which were made in Redditch. ELECTRIC START - This is the Electric start ―Classic‖ engine. SIXTY 5 - Electric start ―Classic‖ engine with 5 speed gearbox. ELECTRA (X) - This is commonly known as the Electra X in the UK and just the Electra in some other countries. It has the 500cc Leanburn engine. Do not get confused with the Electra which is produced for the Indian Market, this has the ―Classic‖ engine and is a completely different model which is not covered by this guide. THUNDERBIRD - Even though this is not widely available as an export model, we have included the 350cc Thunderbird in this guide as we frequently receive enquiries for this model. ELECTRA EFI or E5 - The first available model with the new fuel injected unit construction motor. This was first introduced in 2008 in some parts of Europe and simply put is the new engine in the older Electra chassis (with some changes). CLASSIC EFI or C5 - The second model with the new fuel injected unit construction motor. A true retro styled model with completely revised chassis and looks. Do not get confused with the old engine which is now commonly called the ―classic engine‖. B5 EFI - The third model with this new engine introduced in 2011 as the starter price EFI. Looks very similar and shares a number of components, but not all with the older 350 Bullets.

CLASSIC ENGINE EFI ENGINE One easy way to tell the classic engine apart from the leanburn engine.

The leanburn engine has 2 nuts holding the exhaust pipe on to the cylinder head. The classic engine simply has the exhaust pipe pushed in.
