Dream! REFLECTIONS FROM THE PUBLISHERS


To dream or not to dream? That is the question! In this issue we in- vite you to answer it for yourself as you personally peruse the pages that follow—pages that certainly inspired us to dream. In fact, the very theme of this letter came from one of the estates itself: Winter Dream, the Caribbean Camelot crowning the beach in the Bahamas. But let’s begin at the beginning, at magical Maui, the Hawaiian habitat we chose for our cover from other dramatic dreamworlds we uncovered in Naples, South Beach, and Puerto Vallarta. From the Hamptons to Tahoe and Manhattan to Medina, the dream goes on. Out West, inspiration comes easily at Santa Fe’s La Dolce Vita or above the Sunset Strip in a bedaz- zling pièd-a-terre cottage and an elec- trifying penthouse atop Sierra Towers. For the finale, it’s off to France to


a Perigord castle, luscious Le Jaillet in Megève, and the fabled Cap d’Antibes villa of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald. To dream or not to dream? An accomplished aunt who lived to be102 attributed her success to taking the time to sit under a tree and dream. We invite you to do the same. Perhaps with this issue in hand—dream, dream, dream!
