TOURCRAFTERS Budapest

Capital of Hungary and the Magyar culture, Budapest was originally two cities, Buda & Pest, divided only by the Danube River. Budapest is rich in heritage as an imperial city of the Hapsburg Empire. The hill-top Buda section of the town is dominated by the turreted towers of the castle and boasts a quaint and well-restored medieval town. Across the Danube, Pest is less dramatic but no less packed with places of interest to visitors, including the St. Stephen’s church, the Museum of Fine Arts, the largest synagogue all over Europe and the shopping district. Lying between Buda & Pest in the middle of the Danube river is St. Margaret’s Island with its restorative parks, spas and thermal baths for which Budapest is famed.
