Reach Your Peak


During your Pre-College experience you will have a balance of foundation skills courses and freedom to explore and experiment. This program is designed for high school students entering their junior or senior year who are creative thinkers, doers and are passionate about art making. Montserrat’s Summer Pre-College Program will give you a taste of the art college life. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn college credit toward their BFA degree.


A typical day = atypical


During each day of the program you will encounter a creative experience through formal teaching methods, admissions portfolio reviews, gallery talks and open studio hours.


WEEKDAYS 9 AM–12 PM: Class. 12 PM–1 PM: Break. Lunch. 1 PM–4 PM: Class.


4 PM–6 PM: Free Time. Absorb. Reflect. Share.


Foundation & Freedom


The curriculum provides Foundation Drawing instruction in preparation for a college portfolio. Foundation Drawing is complemented with 2 elective courses designed to encourage exploration in new media, creative problem solving and strengthening technical and conceptual skills.
