Old Mill news Alan Stone,

Associate Director, Marketing

As the weather gradually slips through autumn into winter we can think back to the country shows over the summer and to say how good it was to see so many of you visiting our stand for a cup of tea or slice of cake.

From Royal Bath and West and Royal Cornwall in June right through to Dorchester and Frome in September we saw an estimated 3,000 clients.

This year the Victoria sponge for afternoon tea proved especially popular and we used over 100 sponges. Many people asked where we got them and I can confirm it was from our local baker in Shepton Mallet, Denela’s, and they are very reasonable too!

Through the winter we will be holding a number of seminars and events on topical subjects which you may like to look out for.

Please feel free to check our website www.oldmillgroup.co.uk/events where we will post them as they are arranged.

Back in the spring we announced that we were having to move the Shepton Mallet office to Wells. The original plan was to move by next spring but there have been one or two problems for the developer and it now looks more likely that it will be late next summer before the building is completed. In fact it could be that the Yeovil office moves before that – to an already built office in the centre of the town which is scheduled for next July – fingers crossed.

We continue to strengthen our team of consultants both by developing our own younger members of the team and by recruiting good experienced consultants when they come available. This autumn we are being joined by two new consultants, David McGovern in Shepton Mallet and Barry Martin in Exeter. With the younger generation in mind we have appointed Charlie Hopkins as a new Paraplanner in Melksham.
