Get your head in the clouds Sunday 3 July, 2 – 4pm Description: An afternoon of clouding about in the country park, learn how clouds are formed and why they have different shapes. Make your own cloud in a bottle to take home! Location: Meet at Balgray Reservoir car park, Balgraystone Road, Barrhead.


Bugs and beasties Tuesday 12 July, 1.30 – 3.30pm Description: Find bugs beastly? Come along and find out why creepy crawlies are so special and learn to love a bug. After a mini beast hunt make your own beasties to take home. Location: Meet at the Ashoka restaurant car park, Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, Darnley.


Summer evening saunter Tuesday 26 July, 7 – 9pm Description: Join the countryside rangers on a summer evening stroll and take in some of the beautiful surrounding countryside. This walk will not always cover flat ground, so a moderate level of fitness is required. Location: Meet at Balgray Reservoir car park, Balgraystone Road, Barrhead.


Teddy bears picnic


Monday 1 August, 11.30am – 1.30pm Description: If you go down to the woods today your sure of big surprise, because today’s the day the countryside rangers have their teddy bears picnic. Don’t forget your teddy and a picnic. Location: Meet at the Ashoka restaurant car park, Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, Darnley.

D2D to Whitelee Saturday 24 September, 10am – 3pm(ish) Description: As part of East Renfrewshire’s first walking festival take a tour of Whitelee Wind Farm and Dams to Darnley Country Park on this 12 mile walk. Location: Meet at the Ashoka restaurant car park, Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, Darnley.

Bat and moth night Tuesday 9 August, 8.30 – 10.30pm Description: Discover the bats and moths that can be seen around the country park. Location: Meet at the Ashoka restaurant car park, Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, Darnley.


Fish ‘n’ tips


Sunday 28 August, 11am – 3pm (drop in anytime) Description: Free and expert angling coaching at the Barrhead dams. Bring your own rod if you have one, if not extra equipment will be available. Location: Signposted from Balgray Reservoir car park, Balgraystone Road, Barrhead.


Peace in the park Wednesday 21 September, 10am – 12noon Description: To celebrate International Peace Day join the countryside rangers on this relaxing walk, to be followed by a free outdoor Tai Chi taster session on the shores of Waulkmill Glen Reservoir. Location: Meet at the Ashoka restaurant car park, Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, Darnley.
