GEM Select From Fashion&Interiors...

A TOUCH OF CLASS FROM THE VALE’S BEST-READ NEWSPAPER! to the perfect gift A Why Select?

S the Vale’s local newspaper, and a relatively young one at just 27 years in print, The GEM is well established as the ‘voice of the Vale’. Over recent years, the area has been saturated with ‘glossy’ publications, offering an alternative to traditional newsprint advertising. Indeed, our local advertisers have

long been asking us why The GEM hasn’t produced its own ‘glossy’! In fact, The GEM was the first newspaper to introduce a glossy magazine into the area back in the late 80s - entitled ‘Vale of Glamorgan LIFE’. However, The GEM is part of a newspaper family that is totally committed to its primary function – providing local news for the communities it serves, which in turn, produces consistent and quality responses for our advertisers. We also believe in reaching as many people in the local area as possible, hence our independently audited, weekly FREE door-to-door and local pick-up distribution service. In response to many changes in the world of media, we have introduced a fully digital on-line version of the GEM’s four local editions, which can be viewed every week from Thursday morning, completely FREE of charge. Through these internet-based editions, our loyal advertisers benefit from an unlimited audience. However, whilst The GEM is not in the ‘magazine business’ per se, we are determined to offer our advertisers a full and varied range of print options – and provide our thousands of readers with a new perspective on local independent businesses...

Hence GEM Select! We have printed and distributed 20,000 copies of GEM Select, which will be delivered, FREE to numerous homes and via popular pick-up points. It will also be available on our websites to view FREE of charge, for people out of the area to enjoy. From fashion to flowers and toys to fitted kitchens, there are plenty of good reasons for residents to be selective and keep shopping locally... ...And because it’s the season of goodwill, GEM Select is offering a £100 shopping voucher to spend at any of the local businesses featured, by answering this very simple question:

Eastgate, Cowbridge, CF71 7EL. Closing date is January 31st, 2011. Normal competition rules apply. No corre- spondence considered. No cash alternative.
